An October walk

Well, this blog has been pretty slow of late.  Life is sort of on hold until we complete on the sale and purchase of flat/house.  Once the house in Southwold is ours there'll be a flurry of before shots and photos of us getting down to DIY and decorating and furnishing.  Meanwhile we are collecting cardboard boxes and faffing about with this and that.     I'm turning out more bags but haven't found a market for them yet.  The garden isn't quite ready to go to bed for the winter, things are still growing, and the vegetable plot is producing less and less as autumn advances.

Our bathroom has had a makeover with new walk in shower in place of the bath and new tiles on floor and walls.  It looks very smart.  Unfortunately, when the 'sanitary ware' was removed for the tiler to get access to the whole floor, a pipe came adrift somewhere between the bathroom floor (solid) and the kitchen ceiling where damp patches are now visible.  The plumber was horrified and is now assembling a team to take down the kitchen ceiling for access to the plumbing.  The kitchen was decorated last year and we have a new floor.  We are being amazingly calm about it all!

Last week was a week of new resolutions.  Peter walked to work three times.  I walked with a friend on Wednesday, Peter and I went swimming on Thursday, on Friday I walked to pottery and on Sunday Peter and I went for a four mile walk.  It was a little grey and a bit drizzly at times, but we enjoyed the fresh air and the Norfolk landscape.  We are also cutting out carbohydrates and wine.  So far we have been pretty disciplined.

I'm still thoroughly enjoying pottery.  On Friday a couple of things I have glazed may be out of the kiln.  I can't wait!   Not that I expect them to be great.  They are still experiments at this stage, but pictures of my little efforts will soon be appearing on these pages!
