Day 5: Around Moab UT

Today was a little different.  The morning was taken up with a visit to Moab Regional Hospital to get Peter checked out over a little difficulty arising from a recent operation.  We were seen immediately in the Emergency Room, first assessed by a nurse who went to High School in England, not far from where we live, then by a Nurse Practitioner who handed us on to an ultra-sound technician who produced scans which were reviewed by a radiologist.  Finally a prescription, a CD with the scans and a written report were produced.   Oh, and a bill for $1690.  Eek!   Let's hope the travel insurance coughs up!   Anyway, what's more important than your health.....

Mary and Bob had waited patiently (ha ha) and then we all drove into Moab.  Bob and Peter went to a pharmacy and a liquor store for much needed supplies and Mary and I went to....

Micro Brewery Moab

We had lunch in a micro-brewery which we all thoroughly enjoyed!  At last!

After lunch and a beer we visited Arches National Park.  It's a vast area with rock formations and although this is probably our 3rd day of rock formations, they are all amazing.  It's the sheer scale of these landscapes that is breathtaking, and the subtle shifting of shape and shade of rock and soil.   We took a mile walk through a dry river bed between steep towering walls of rock.
