A trip to Croydon on the train and bus to see Peter's brother in law, with picnic lunch from Waitrose and then back in time for a wash and brush up before meeting cousins for dinner at Ognoski, a Polish restaurant opposite the Science Museum.

We had delicious Polish food: herring, chicken liver with sour cherries, cold soup, smoked salmon on a potato cake (latke) followed by halibut, trout, and two enormous roasted pork hocks on sauerkraut. Then the lady in charge came and apologised profusely for the delay in our main courses reaching us...to be honest we were talking so much we didn't notice...but we accepted her kind offer of free desserts! A good evening of catching up and exchanging family news.
