Two weeks in London: Day 7

This was another DIY day.  Peter has been annoyed by some lumpy plaster on a wall left by the so-called professional plasterer and the slight defect was highlighted by a recent leak from the bathroom on the other side.  The leak having been fixed, Peter planned to fill, sand and repaint while we are here.  But...the flat two floors above us had a burst pipe 6 weeks ago
Step one
and we now have water staining at the other end of the same wall.  So Peter's job grew.   He prepared and primed the wall and then gave me a hand with the curtains.

We made several discoveries laying out the fabric and preparing to cut equal lengths with matching pattern.  1. It hurts the back and knees to be crawling around on the floor!  2. The pattern repeat was difficult to match because the pattern on one edge of the fabric was different to the other edge.  3) It's very hard to do the maths!   We measured and re-measured several times to make sure we were going to make the best use of the pieces which came in 5.5m lengths rather that a continuous roll.

Anyway, we finally got it worked out and carefully labelled each piece in order.   Fortunately it was a dreary rainy day so we didn't feel too bad about sticking around the flat, but when the cutting out of the curtains was complete we headed for Pizza Express and a bottle of wine instead of cooking at home.  Because we're worth it!
